A modern day gangster film with a star studded cast. Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe are the two main characters and the movie is directed by Ridley Scott. In this movie Denzel Washington plays Frank Lucas who is a mild mannered man who eventually becomes a drug lord, and Russell Crowe plays Richie Roberts, a very hones cop who does his job right but have his personal life in ruins. The movie shows how Frank Lucas slowly climbs the ladder to the top and how Richie Roberts realizes that it doesn’t necessarily mean you’re a good guy if you’re honest and straightforward in your job. On a deep level you realize that even if Lucas is a drug lord he is a nice guy and
even if Roberts is straight as an arrow in his job he’s an a*****e. The last part of the movie is amazing, ‘amazing grace’ never sounded so beautiful… a great story, an amazing director and two powerful performers.
Watch this movie. It’s really good.
