I guess it's an appropriate title for the movie, it's been seven years since the last move, Clint Eastwood looks visibly old, as if he's been pulled out of retirement, hence "Sudden Impact" :D I guess, this movie is ok, I mean it's been seven years right? But it's the same old Dirty Harry flavor, so you kind of know what's coming up, robbery in the beginning, partner killed, and kill or be killed ending.
Frankly I don't know why in God's name they had to kill the partner in this one, it's just sad. Other than that the story revolves around Jennifer Spencer (Sondra Locke) an artist with a horrible past, her sister and here were raped about ten years ago, now she's taking her revenge by killing her assaulters one by one. Rape is a touchy subject and It's not pretty to see on screen either. So, even though she kills a lot of people, it doesn't seem that bad. And that's the story, will Harry find out who the killer is? And if he does what will he do? As far as the series goes this movie is about Harry switching from his .44 Magnum to .44 AutoMag, the plot just gives him an ideal situation to use the .44 AutoMag and retire the .44 Magnum. Not a fan of the series? Then don't watch this movie.
