To everyone who said that Avatar had amazing visuals, please
watch this movie and eat your words. There are instances in the movie where you
cannot figure out if its special effects or the real deal. The first half of
the movie is really good. The plot is pretty simple. A group of people set out
to find the answers to our existence.
The movie starts out with some scientists finding a common star pattern in cave paintings of ancient civilizations. So the ship Prometheus sets off to this distant location to search for our creators. After this the movie progresses with them finding some dead alien life forms, some strange black liquid and the works. Till this part the movie was good, it was exciting and thrilling. Then the movie becomes a bit predictable and boring. It was as if the writers were drunk, got an insanely good idea, started writing it down and half way through got KO’ed and the next morning woke up and said “Shit man! We slept off… come on!! Quick… we’re still hung over, let’s finish this damn story… I KNOW, we’ll make it a prequel to Alien” so, it wasn’t that great. If you are a huge Alien fan, you’ll probably like this one. But if you’re going to see this movie because you’re a fan of Ridley Scott’s other works, not really a good idea. I guess, if they had given a proper origin to the alien series, it would have been good but even the creation of the alien was vague. Not an Alien fan? Still want to watch this movie? Knock yourself out.
